Mr. Rice joined ATAL in 2013 where he oversees and evaluates the quality of all testing, equipment and Lab personnel. Along with the help of a highly trained and versatile staff, he has been responsible for bringing and maintaining the NVLAP accreditation (NVLAP Lab Code 201019-0) to the Lab in a short period of time and continues to look for growth using state-of-the-art equipment for the highest quality, most accurate and reliable testing results.
Prior to joining, Jim had served in the U.S. Air Force as an Avionics Intermediate Shop Specialist where he would troubleshoot, diagnose and service F-16 fighter plane electronic flight control systems. He also worked 24 years at United Radio and Cooper Lighting where he gained an extensive knowledge in the electronic and lighting fields.
Over the years, Mr. Rice has acquired several certifications such as Certified IPC Specialist, Lighting Fundamental Certification, Certified ISO-9001 Internal Auditor, and 5S Workplace Organizational Methodology. Mr. Rice is a member of the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (IESNA).
