The American Testing and Assessment Laboratories (ATAL) is one of the premier NVLAP accredited (NVLAP Lab Code 201019-0) facilities in the world, with a scope to perform (50) individual types of testing in the Energy Efficient Lighting Products category. The NVLAP accreditation (NVLAP Lab Code 201019-0) provides customers the assurance needed to be flexible and successful in the continuously evolving lighting industry.
Additionally, ATAL is a recognized and approved testing facility for the coveted Design Lights Consortium (DLC) and Lighting Facts organizations. ATAL continues to invest in the latest state of the art equipment, technologies and software. The Type C Moving Mirror Goniophotometer is utilized to measure the light intensity and distribution from the luminaire to generate an IES file. Another high tech device, the Integrating Sphere is responsible for optical measurement, CRI, CCT, and Lumen output. It has also been updated and retrofitted to perform LM-82 Testing (Characterization of LED Light Engines and LED Lamps for Electrical and Photometric Properties as a Function of Temperature) as well as software upgrades to achieve measurements for TM-30, Horticulture and Flicker data.
ATAL’s operational effectiveness and quality management systems provide customers the flexibility to design, engineer, certify, manufacture and deliver new products to customers with a very fast lead time. ATAL is committed to providing the most accurate and timely reports for our customers.
Some of ATAL’s leading edge and up to date equipment include:
- The Type C Moving Mirror Goniophotometer is the best in class assessment and verification instrument available, providing the most precise measurement of light intensity and distribution.
- The Integrating Sphere creates expeditious reports of optical measurements, Horticulture information, Flicker Metrics, TM-30, CRI, CCT, and Lumen output at wavelengths from 350nm – 1050nm.
- A technologically advanced Settling Dust Chamber to ensure that your product is tested and completely protected from any ingress of talcous dust based on IEC 60529 (Degrees of Protection Provided by Enclosures) for an IP6X rating.
- A highly innovative Walk-In Rain Test Chamber with the abilities to test product for IP ratings of IPX5, IPX6 & IPX9K. It has also been modified for the capability to run the UL 1598 (4) hour Wet Locations test. All of this is to accommodate a wide range of scenarios to ensure your product will last in the field.
